Creativity Returns

Branding, UI Prototyping, Iridescent Installation
Thoughts from 100 people on creativity at the height of COVID-19, guerrilla installed on the steps of Harvard University’s Widener Library

In a virtual year that closed shared campus spaces, Creativity Returns gathered 100 audio responses to two prompts: “I’m at my most creative when…” and, “The last time I felt truly creative was when…”

Responses were randomly exchanged to recover hints of spontaneous, in-person interactions. A digital component paired audio transcripts with related quotes from James Baldwin, Twyla Tharp, and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, etc. for a greater conversation across time.

The project’s name comes from the idea that even in times when creativity is challenged, stifled, or seemingly nonexistent, it always, unfailingly, returns.
